Osteria CASA28 is located in the historic center of Como. The city center is situated on the lakeside promenade, around the Piazza del Duomo, one of the largest cathedrals in northern Italy. The historic core still has the appearance of the original Roman fort, with well-preserved medieval walls and large watchtowers (Porta Torre, Torre Gattoni, San Vitale). Remarkable are the churches of S. Abbondio and S. Fedele, the heart of the walled city, and of artistic value are the palaces built by the rationalists Como Giuseppe Terragni: the House of Fascism, the War Memorial, the Asilo Sant'Elia and Novocomum. Nearby, the Volta Temple houses some scientist Alessandro Volta memorabilia, another illustrious Como, inventor of the electric battery. Villa Olmo is home to the high-level art exhibitions while the funicular railway that connects the city to the mountain of Brunate is an excellent opportunity to take a look from the beauty of the landscape.
